Single Malt – Islay, Scotland Strength: 61,7% Nose: Received with a small basket of smoked fruits: apricots, kiwi, and green apples. Phenolic, intense smoke. Warm tar paper, and seaweed in the mudflats. Grated chocolate, coffee powder, nutmeg, and pepper. Mouth: Dry and very strong start. Ham-flavored peat smoke, licorice, aniseed pastilles, pepper bites. Forest honey, vanilla. Finish: Medium-long finish, very dry and spicy. The smoky note remains in the glass for a very long time, cushioned only by a little vanilla and honey.

Mouth: Somehow the peat on this famous Islay bottling is secondary to all the other rich flavors the spirit yields. . Finish: Long and enduring the sweetness fades while the gorgeous characteristic smoke remains and the dram concludes with a sharp ethanol bite which is surprisingly pleasant.

Single Malt – Lowland, Scotland Strength: 43% Nose: Quite a complex nose, Molasses, varnished old wood furniture, dates, dark chocolate, raisins, old leather armchair, red roses, and treacle. Mouth: First taste’s nice and smooth dark chocolate, you can taste the wood on your pallet, it’s quite dry but creamy, some summer fruit pudding and ginger cake. There is quite a good balance here. Finish: A long dry and woody finish with chocolate toffee on the death.

Herbal notes, a tad bitter and dusty.

Tennessee – Tennessee, USA Strength: 45.0% Nose: Intense, vanilla, banana, caramel, oak. Not filigree, everything directly with a lot of power. Mouth: Maybe a little warm and a little black pepper, the vanilla banana combo is joined by a veritable oak board that really fills the mouth with a few mint leaves and astringents. Finish: The finish is therefore rather tart of oak. Cocoa powder with vanilla and nutmeg and cloves. Unfortunately not that long.

Finish: The medium-long finish is also slightly smoky and dry.
